Moss is gone to the Vikes now. It seemed like he wanted a trade and I believe he would of dogged it like he did the end of last season.
He will be missed because he always seemed to draw double teams. However I believe Bill and Company are trying to establish a culture of team first and the departure of Moss was part of it. On the flip side if we can package some of these picks to move up the draft board and get a dominant DE,RB and Receiver than it will be all worth it. Bring on the Ravens... |

Sounds like he was a distraction, according to Bruschi's espn boston report, and a few others. Too bad, because i was hoping we could have worked something out. Apparently they wanted to make a move now so that they could get something for him rather than having him walk, but i just hope it's not at the expense of this season. We don't have a true #1 now and even during a game where moss has no catches he still affects the offensive production by his presence on the field. That 3rd round pick isn't gonna be able to catch any touchdowns or draw double teams this season.
Maybe this is also an indication that Bill believes that Tate is ready for the next level? |

It's a shame that Randy was let go this way, but I can understand why. A 3rd rd pick is better than a 5th rd pick for sure. Yes, if Tate is ready to move up, guess we'll find out. I hope he is, cause it's really cool to see a "no-name" guy start to make a name for themselves.
As BB said, I wish Randy good luck in the future (yep, he's on my FF team, and NO I'm not dumping him), except on Halloween...when I hope he puts up another big 0 for catches. Will be interesting to see how the coverages work now. Randy required to be doubled everytime he was out there. Hopefully Welker/Hernandez/Tate, etc can handle what's coming. Thanks for the memories Randy! Too bad you didn't get the well deserved SB ring. |
